While it's nice to set off with map and guidebook in hand, sometimes it's even more fun to be led by someone who knows the lay of the land. California's Secret Desert™ shares its secrets willingly, but that doesn't mean they're always easy to find! A little help or advice comes in handy.
Whether you're seeking a group tour with an overnight stay, a docent-led hike to an archaeological site, or a private jeep tour for a couple of hours, we've got a variety of options for you. Knowledgeable leaders can help you know what you're looking at and take you deep into country you might be reluctant to enter on your own.
Our visitor centers provide you with information and assistance for planning your own desert adventures, too. Either way you want to do it, exploring this desert is one of our best secrets.
What fun!
