California's Secret Desert™ – Borrego Springs

Lower Coyote Canyon has something for almost every explorer. Two wheel drive vehicles can usually reach Desert Gardens and the trail head for the Alcoholic Pass trail. Lunch or a snooze on huge, flat boulders at the summit is a great treat!

There are several marked hiking and horseback trails in this area. Lower willows trail is a treat for mountain bikers. The by-pass road is one the most challenging four wheel drives around. Coyote Creek flows year round, with a lush riparian area.

And it's a hot spot for plant and wildflower viewing.
